Bouquet wraps are handmade rectangular designs that wrap around your finished natural-stem posy to create a beautiful finish to your flowers. My most popular service has been making wraps out of leftover material from the Bride or Bridesmaid's dresses - for a PERFECT match! the wraps tie in with the dresses, giving a lovely connection from the flowers to the dress. It also means you can have beautiful lace, ribbon and bead embroidery added to bring interest to an otherwise plain necessity. This service is unique to Flowers in Love. Every handmade wrap comes neatly packaged with instructions for use, and the appropriate florist pins to fix your wrap in place. Often I tie the pin holes into the wrap theme - you will see some wraps with gaps in the design for pins; so when they are inserted, they disappear into the pattern!
Most of my wraps are one-offs, however I am happy to replicate any of the styles you see on the 'Bouquet Wraps' page or in other photos. You can request them made with your style or theme; in your colours; even with your dress material; or just more of them so your whole bridal party can have them! Generally I make my sets so the Bride's wrap is more elaborate, and Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids a simpler version of the Bride's, and Flowergirls fun and young, still with a nudge to the Bride's colours and style.
was planning her wedding at the gorgeous Nukara Farm, with a
vintage/cottage theme. She send me samples of her ribbon and papers used in stationary and
decorations, and I used those - as well considering the flowers I had ordered for her bouquet - to
create a wrap to compliment her flowers and dress and tie the theme together. I used white satin;
slightly off-white lace; faux pearl and Miyuki glass bead embroidery; with a stunning Swarovski
connector; and Swarovski crystals. This is the finished wrap:
And here are some photos of the wrap on the day - see what a difference it makes having a
handcrafted finishing touch to your bouquet! Andrea looked stunning on her own; but I think you'll
agree the bouquet (completed with wrap) really compliment her dress and overall theme
fantastically, and created interest and glamour for her flowers.
Bridesmaid's wore dresses made of a crisp silver/grey taffeta, and I used the off-cuts of her material
to make wraps for them. Her ceremony and reception were decorated with dozens of white
butterflies, so I used a small version of these butterflies. I cut away the wings from the body,
attached the wings; then used glass pearls (the same pearls the Bridesmaid's jewellery was made
from) to make new 'bodies' for the butterflies. I then finished the wraps with lengths of pink satin
ribbon (to compliment the pink Lisianthus blooms), and attached them with a neat row or pearl
pins. The result - bouquets that looked great from any angle!
also loved the class and feminine touch of the vintage style. Her
's flowers were simple - orange and white Lilies. But her Bridesmaid's
were to wear dresses made of reflective orange material, and she didn't want too stark a contrast
between their striking dresses and her lilies. So I suggested crystal stems of Swarovski 'topaz'
diamond-shaped crystals for the Bridesmaids, and a handmade wrap for hers. I made the wrap
from the Bridesmaid's dress material, and embellished with a bead-embroidered lily, surrounded
with fading lines of crystal beads and glass bugle beads. I love the simplicity of this design, using
striking colours.
had chosen a lovely coffee-rose material for her Bridesmaids,
and wanted wraps made from their material. Good way to make use of
scraps of your expensive dress material!
Megan herself was having a custom bouquet holder, so I made sure they complimented each
other by using the same beaded border for both. If you look closely on the Bridesmaid's
border, you will notice gaps where pearls should be; this is so the pearl pins used to secure they
wrap can be completely camouflaged! I think you will agree matching the material looks
fantastic on the day, and the beadwork adds lovely decorative finish to the Bridesmaid's
outfits.
